Senior Corporate Information Manager – Microsoft Information Protection Project
House of Lords – Parliamentary Knowledge and Information
BELONG HERE. TOGETHER, WE MAKE PARLIAMENT HAPPEN.
**This role is only open to existing employees of the House of Lords, House of Commons and Parliamentary Digital Services**
As a Senior Corporate Information Manager (Microsoft Information Protection Project), you’ll play an important role in supporting the UK’s parliamentary democracy. Your work will help Members carry out their responsibilities effectively — contributing to something bigger than any one role.
You’ll be part of a collaborative community, working alongside colleagues from a wide range of professions. Together, we make Parliament happen.
You’ll be based on the Parliamentary Estate in Westminster — a unique working environment shaped by history and powered by the people who work here today.
In this role you will help Parliament enhance the way sensitive information is protected across Microsoft 365. Working within the Information and Records Management Service, you will contribute to an important programme of work that supports colleagues in managing information securely, confidently and appropriately, wherever it is created, shared or accessed.
You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary project team, working closely with Parliamentary Digital Service (PDS) colleagues and delivery partners to design and implement information protection solutions.
This is an exciting opportunity to draw on your expertise in information and records management, knowledge of Microsoft 365, and understanding of parliamentary ways of working, which will help shape practical and effective safeguards that support both security and collaboration across Parliament.
What you’ll be doing
In this role, you’ll:
- Provide information management expertise to support the Microsoft Information Protection (MIP) programme, helping to ensure that information management principles, policies and practical considerations are reflected in project recommendations and decisions.
- Develop an understanding of how sensitive information is currently created, shared and managed across Microsoft 365, identifying opportunities to enhance existing practices and highlighting areas where early improvements could deliver significant benefits and reduce risk.
- Review and assessing proposed MIP roadmaps, controls and implementation approaches, offering balanced and practical advice to help shape solutions that are effective, proportionate and appropriate for Parliament’s needs.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the project team, contributing expertise, building strong working relationships and supporting informed decision-making to help achieve shared objectives.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who can bring their skills and experience to make a meaningful contribution here.
You’ll have:
- Professional expertise: Demonstrates a strong understanding of information management legislation, frameworks and good practice, developed through relevant experience in information or records management. Able to apply this knowledge in a practical way, providing clear and balanced advice where policy, technology and day-to-day working practices come together.
- Digital information management: Brings experience of supporting, developing or implementing information management approaches within Microsoft 365, with an appreciation of how information is created, stored, shared and protected in complex organisational environments, ideally within a parliamentary or public sector context.
- Judgement and problem solving: Able to identify opportunities, risks and challenges relating to information management, using sound judgement to explore options, make recommendations and work collaboratively with others to develop practical and effective solutions.
- Relationship building and collaboration: Skilled at building positive and trusted working relationships with a wide range of colleagues and stakeholders. Able to work across teams and levels of seniority, bringing people together, encouraging engagement and helping to build support for recommendations and shared outcomes.
It would be even better if you have (or are willing to learn):
- A qualification in information management or a related discipline.

- Generous Civil Service pension scheme.
- A comprehensive Parliamentary health and wellbeing programme.
- Access to a wide range of learning and development opportunities across diverse professions.
- The chance to witness democracy in action and work in a place of historic national significance.
